Volume IV: What works, what matters, what lasts
Leadership: Characteristics and tasks
January 24, 2005
We begin the 2005 PKAL Volume IV postings with a series of essays and articles about leadership from a personal perspective. An essay by Melvin D. George, Chair of PKAL's National Steering Committee outlines the personal characteristics of leaders and is accompanied by reflections from two PKAL F21 members. With permission, we have also posted a seminal article by John Gardner from the series of papers on leadership sponsored by the Independent Sector. From the EDUCAUSE Review, we capture some personal reflections by Polley Ann McClure about 10 Lessons on Leadership. Suggestions on developing a personal leadership growth plan from Sylvia Nadler, leadership consultant, complete the postings.
