Laird Yock

Laird has more than 28 years of experience in the field of development. He spent half of his development career seeking philanthropic support in higher education at Golden Valley Lutheran College, Golden Valley, MN and St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN and the other half in academic medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN and Joslin Diabetes Center, Boston, MA. He has had the title of Vice President in both higher education and academic medicine. At all of these institutions he has had the privilege of working with wonderful benefactors to help them become philanthropists.

During his career he has participated in 9 fundraising campaigns and in all the campaigns he has assisted major and planned gift donors. In addition he has had leadership roles in campaign case development, leading campaign strategic planning efforts, implementing strategic plans and managing the 'quiet phase' of campaigns (particularly in coaching and training faculty, staff and volunteers) as well as managing campaign staffs.

Currently, Laird is Vice President and Managing Director of the philanthropic consulting firm of Grenzebach Glier and Associates, Inc., Chicago, Il.

He resides with his wife Betty in Portland, ME.
