Denise S. Pope
Assistant Professor of Biology
I study the mating and communication behavior of arthropods, specifically fiddler crabs and field crickets. I currently teach introductory biology and animal behavior, and hope to teach invertebrate biology, women and science, non-major biology, and first-year seminar courses in the future. I received my B.A. in liberal arts from St. John’s College (Santa Fe, NM), and my Ph.D. in zoology from Duke University. I completed two post-docs abroad: one in Panama and one in Europe (Denmark and Portugal) before joining the faculty at Trinity in 2003.
